LA SUPERBA Crowned XLIV Italian J/24 Champion

With the award ceremony, the curtain fell on the 2025 edition of the Italian J/24 Championship for the 24 J/24 teams from across Italy, well organized by the delegation of the FIV (Federazione Italiano de Vela) and the Circolo della Vela Erix. Divided into three days of competition – characterized by strong Mistral winds in the first two and a weaker one in the final one – and eight hard-fought and challenging races held in the waters of Lerici, the 2025 Italian Championship was a great success. The winning team from the Centro Vela Altura della Marina Militare club was LA SUPERBA, skippered by Ignazio Bonanno and his crew of Simone Scontrino, Francesco Linares, Francesco Picaro and Alfredo Branciforte. With five victories in their scoreline, LA SUPERBA cruised to the win, their 11th time to be crowned Italian J/24 Champions. The balance of the podium saw BRUSCHETTA GUASTAFEST in second place, owned by Sonia and Alessia Ciceri and Ancilla Scaccia and helmed by Pierluigi Puthod. Then, taking the bronze was FIVE FOR FIGHTING, skippered by Eugenia De Giacomo Pitanti and crewed by Nicola Pitanti, Matilde Pitanti, Marco Bruna and Lorenzo Cusimano. Rounding out the top five were PILGRIM (Fabio Mazzoni) and JOANNA (Andrea Collina), in fourth and fifth places, respectively. The winner of the women’s classification was Eugenia De Giacomo.
