Over a three-day weekend, the Hamburger Segel Club in Hamburg, Germany hosted their annual fall regatta on the beautiful Alster Lake. The 2019 edition had near record entries, and the racing was extremely competitive. In the 17-boat J/24 fleet, it was Jan Kaehler’s GER 5281 who took a tie-breaker at 7 points each over Hauke Kruess’s GER 5073. Ascending to the third step on the podium after starting out with a Black Flag in race one was Fabian Damm’s GER 5316 with 9 points, winning two of the races. The rest of the top five included top woman skipper Lynn Wolgast (Muehlenberger Segel Club) on GER 5266 in fourth place with 13 points.
