The ninth and final stage of the 2025 Italian J/24 National Circuit took place off Olbia, Sardinia. The previous eight stages took place from April to November. Here were the winners of each stage: Marina di Carrara (JAMAICA), Livorno (LA SUPERBA), Lerici (LA SUPERBA), Caldonazzo (BRUSCHETTA), Agropoli (JEBEDEE), Anzio (RABBIT TOIO), Cervia (LA SUPERBA), and Valmadrera (LA SUPERBA). “The Race Committee, chaired by Nanni Ono and assisted by Claudio Razzuoli, Claudia Giagheddu and Salvatore Corda, had to contend with unfavorable weather conditions,” explained Marco Frulio. “The high-pressure system over Sardinia made it very difficult to set up the racecourse. The very light and variable winds allowed only one start on Saturday, which was then cancelled during the first leg. On Sunday, after a long wait, the crews were able to compete on the racecourse located in front of Pittulongu beach. The Sirocco wind, with an intensity of between 5 and 7 knots, and the continuous slight shifts, made the racecourse extremely difficult to interpret.” The crew of VIGNE SURRAU from the Arzachena Yacht Club was the best at reading the conditions on the water, achieving a 1-2-2 tally. That was a great source of satisfaction for the team led by Aurelio Bini and Evero Niccolini. With a 1-2-4 on the day, ARIA’s crew of Marco Frulio, Carzedda, Milesi, Alfano and Marabini had to settle for second place. Completing the podium with a 1-4-5 tally was BOTTA DRITTA, skippered by owner Mario Di Fraia (with crew members Diana, Di Fraia, Tirotto and Morosi). Over the course of eight events that started in April and concluded in November, a total of 52 teams from across Italy participated in at least one of the regattas. In the end, a new name sat atop the podium: Pierluigi Pulhod’s BRUSCHETTA ITA 469. It was not an easy road to the top of the overall national leaderboard. They had a mediocre start in the first event of the season at the Trofeo Marina di Carrara, finishing seventh. Thereafter, the team set a blistering pace, finishing 3-2-1-2-3 to win with a high points total of 210. Riding the roller-coaster all summer long was Fabio Ascoli’s RABBIT TOIO. Starting strongly in the Marinara regatta with a second, their subsequent results were 2-7-6-1-7-9 for a high-point total of 205, enough to secure the silver medal for their hard-earned efforts. Ignacio Bonanno’s LA SUPERBA from the Marina Militare Sailing Association finished in the bronze medal position. The team couldn’t participate in all regattas due to their Italian Navy responsibilities. For the regattas they did sail in, they won most of them. The LA SUPERBA crew posted regatta finishes of 3-1-1-1-1 and had to count 2 DNSs to finish with a high points total of 197. Rounding out the top five was Italian J/24 Class President Pietro Diamanti sailing JAMAICA and Federica Cattarozzi’s KASTER, finishing fourth and fifth, respectively. Federica’s KASTER was Top Woman Skipper for the season. Joining her were Eugenia de Giacomo’s FIVE FOR FIGHTING in second place (also ninth overall), and Andrea Collina’s JOANNA in third place (15th overall).
